just as the Exalted has said:

“Indeed, those who disbelieve almost strike you down with their looks when they hear the Reminder, and they say, ‘He is certainly mad.’ Yet it is nothing but a Reminder for all beings.” (al-Qalam 68:51–52)

And He, blessed and exalted, says:

“Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His servant, that he might be a warner to all peoples.” (al-Furqan 25:1)

He also says:

“Say: I ask you for no payment for this, nor am I one who fabricates. It is but a Reminder for all beings, and you will surely come to know its message in due course.” (Sad 38:86–88)

And the Most High says:

“Indeed, this is the word of a noble messenger—endowed with power, secure with the Lord of the Throne, obeyed there and trustworthy. Your companion is not mad. He certainly saw him on the clear horizon. He is not grudging of the unseen. Nor is this the word of an accursed devil. So where are you going? It is nothing but a Reminder for all beings—for any of you who wishes to walk the straight path. Yet you do not will except as Allah, Lord of all beings, wills.” (al-Takwīr 81:19–29)

And He says:

“We have sent you to mankind as a messenger, and Allah suffices as Witness.” (al-Nisāʾ 4:79)

According to the sounder of the two opinions, then, the meaning of His words, “And indeed it is a Reminder for you and for your people” (al-Zukhruf 43:44) is that it is a Reminder which they keep in mind and by which they are guided.
