“Say, ‘If mankind and the jinn were to unite in order to produce the like of this Qur’an, they would never be able to produce its like, even if they aided one another.’” ⦗al-Isrāʾ 17:88⦘

From that moment Allah declared that, even should humans and jinn combine their efforts, they could not rival the Qur’an with anything comparable. Its phrasing, meanings, insights, and sciences constitute the most perfect and most momentous miracle. Such has indeed been the case: not a single Arab or non-Arab—despite the intensity of their enmity, their determination to undermine his mission by every means, and their command of every mode of speech—has been able to match it. At the same time Allah sent down other verses confirming that he was the Messenger sent to them, without stating that he had not been sent to others as well. Thus the Exalted said in Sūrah al-Qaṣaṣ:

“We surely gave Moses the Book after We had destroyed the earlier generations, as an illumination for people, and as guidance and mercy, that they might remember. You were not on the western side when We decreed the matter for Moses, nor were you among the witnesses. But We raised up other generations, and long years passed over them. Nor did you dwell among the people of Midian, reciting Our revelations to them; rather, it is We who send messengers. And you were not at the side of the Mount when We called out. Yet all this is a mercy from your Lord, so that you may warn a people to whom no warner came before you, that they might take heed. And were it not that calamity should befall them because of what their own hands have sent ahead, and they then say, ‘Our Lord, why did You not send us a messenger, so that we might follow Your signs and be among the believers?’” ⦗al-Qaṣaṣ 28:43-47⦘
