And among those who outwardly profess Islam there are hypocrites, and the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire—beneath the Jews and the Christians. For this reason, the very faults for which Allah censured the Jews and Christians may also be found among the hypocrites who lay claim to Islam: people who display acceptance of everything the Messenger brought while secretly denying it, like the esoteric unbelievers, to say nothing of those among them who avow their atheism openly.
