Khadija before his prophethood, for she had been informed of his remarkable qualities.
These accounts are treated in detail elsewhere, but the purpose here is simply to point out that Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—was endowed with many miracles: water sprang from between his fingers on several occasions; a small amount of food was multiplied until a vast crowd had eaten from it; and a scant quantity of water was increased until throngs drank their fill.
Such signs occurred more than once for him and for his community—so many that a full description would be lengthy. Among his followers were those for whom Allah restored the dead to life, whether human beings or animals, and others who led a great army walking across the sea until they reached the opposite shore.
