they celebrate at the end of their fast, together with the rest of their festivals that they have arranged around the stages of the Messiah’s life, and the feasts they have invented in honour of their dignitaries. All of this is nothing but their own innovations, instituted without any scripture sent down from Allah the Exalted. Indeed, they even build churches bearing the name of whomever they magnify—just as it is related in the Sunan from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him:

“When a righteous man among them dies, they build a place of worship over his grave and set up those images inside it; such people are the worst of Allah’s creation on the Day of Resurrection.”

This stands in complete contrast to the mosques that are built for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, as He says:

“And the mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone along with Allah.” (Q 72:18)

He also says:

“In houses which Allah has allowed to be raised…” (Q 24:36)

And He, the Exalted, says:

“Say, ‘My Lord has commanded justice, and that you set your faces toward Him at every mosque and call upon Him, devoting the religion sincerely to Him.’” (Q 7:29)

And He says:

“Only those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish the prayer, give the alms, and fear none but Allah maintain the mosques of Allah; it is they who are expected to be among the rightly guided.” (Q 9:18)

The Christians—like their counterparts among the polytheists—fear others besides Allah and call upon others besides Him.
