Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-Masīh - Ibn Taimiya - (1/335)

Section: Scriptural and Prophetic proofs for the universality of his mission, peace and blessings be upon him.

Muslim narrates from Anas:

“The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wrote to Kisra, Caesar, the Negus, and every tyrant, calling them to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic— and this was not the Negus whose passing he announced to his Companions on the day he died, when he led them out to the prayer ground, arranged them in rows, and offered the funeral prayer for him.” Rather, it was another Negus who ruled after him.

Muslim also narrates from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“I have been given superiority over the prophets in six matters: I have been endowed with concise yet all-encompassing speech; I have been aided by awe; war-booty has been made lawful for me; the earth has been made for me a place of worship and a means of purification; I have been sent to all humankind; and with me the line of prophets is sealed.”

[فَصْلٌ: أَدِلَّةُ الْكِتَابِ وَالسُّنَّةِ عَلَى عُمُومِ رِسَالَتِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ] وَأَخْرَجَ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ: «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَتَبَ إِلَى كِسْرَى وَقَيْصَرَ وَالنَّجَاشِيِّ وَإِلَى كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - وَلَيْسَ بِالنَّجَاشِيِّ الَّذِي نَعَاهُ لِأَصْحَابِهِ فِي الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ، وَخَرَجَ بِهِمْ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى، فَصَفَّ وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ -» بَلِ النَّجَاشِيُّ آخَرُ تَمَلَّكَ بَعْدَهُ. وَأَخْرَجَ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «فُضِّلْتُ عَلَى الْأَنْبِيَاءِ بِسِتٍّ: أُعْطِيتُ جَوَامِعَ الْكَلِمِ، وَنُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِ، وَأُحِلَّتْ لِيَ الْغَنَائِمُ، وَجُعِلَتْ لِيَ الْأَرْضُ مَسْجِدًا وَطَهُورًا، وَأُرْسِلْتُ إِلَى النَّاسِ كَافَّةً، وَخُتِمَ بِيَ النَّبِيُّونَ» .
