Moreover, the signs kept coming at the hands of Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—one after another, yet they still would not believe in them.

The Exalted said:

“Never does a sign come to them from among the signs of their Lord without their turning away from it.” [al-Anʿām 6:4] (4)

“They have rejected the truth when it came to them; but soon the news of what they used to ridicule will reach them.” [al-Anʿām 6:5] (5)

“Have they not seen how many a generation We destroyed before them—generations whom We had established on the earth in a way We have not established you? We poured down abundant rain upon them from the sky and made rivers flow beneath them; then We destroyed them for their sins and raised up after them another generation.” [al-Anʿām 6:6] (6)

“Even if We had sent down to you a Book on parchment so that they could touch it with their own hands, the disbelievers would still have said, ‘This is nothing but manifest sorcery.’” [al-Anʿām 6:7] (7)

“And they say, ‘Why has an angel not been sent down to him?’ If We had sent down an angel, the matter would have been decided, and they would not have been granted any respite.” [al-Anʿām 6:8] (8)

“Had We made the Messenger an angel, We would surely have made him appear as a man, and thus We would have obscured for them what they now seek to obscure.” [al-Anʿām 6:9] (9)

“Messengers before you were certainly mocked, but those who scoffed at them were engulfed by what they used to mock.” [al-Anʿām 6:10] (10)

Say, “Travel through the land, then observe how the end of those who denied turned out.” [al-Anʿām 6:11] (11)
