Surah Qaf and Surah “The Hour Has Drawn Near” (al-Qamar), for the two of them lay this matter bare. He would also recite Surah Qaf in the Friday prayer, because it gathers in one place the proofs of prophethood, the Resurrection, and a depiction of the worldly lot of those who follow the prophets and of those who oppose them. Concerning this Allah, Exalted is He, says in it:
“Before them the people of Noah denied, and so did the dwellers of the well and Thamud” (Qur’an, 50:12) (12);
“and ʿAd, Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot” (Qur’an, 50:13) (13);
“and the people of the thicket and the people of Tubbaʿ—each of them rejected the messengers, so My warning came true” (Qur’an, 50:14) (14).
