“And when you killed a man and fell into mutual recriminations over him, while Allah was about to expose what you had been hiding,” (al-Baqarah 72) (72)
“then We said, ‘Strike him with a part of it.’ Thus does Allah bring the dead to life and show you His signs, so that you may reason.” (al-Baqarah 73)
Likewise, He has told of those who left their homes in their thousands for fear of death, whereupon Allah said to them, “Die,” and then restored them to life; and He has told of the one who
“…passed by a town that lay in ruins, collapsed upon its roofs, and said, ‘How will Allah bring this back to life after its death?’ So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years and then revived him. He said, ‘How long have you remained?’ He replied, ‘A day, or part of a day.’ He said, ‘Rather, you have remained a hundred years. Look at your food and drink—they have not spoiled—and look at your donkey, so that We may make you a sign for mankind. And look at the bones, how We raise them and then clothe them with flesh.’ When this became clear to him, he said, ‘I know now that Allah has power over all things.’” (al-Baqarah 259)
He—glorified be He—relates something similar in the story of Abraham, where He says:
“…My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.’ He said, ‘Do you not believe?’ He replied, ‘Indeed I do, but so that my heart may be reassured.’ He said, ‘Then take four birds, draw them to yourself, cut them into pieces, and place a portion of them on every mountain. Then call them; they will come to you in haste. And know that Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.’” (al-Baqarah 260)
Moreover, exalted is He, He adduces an argument even more decisive than all of that: the first origination and the creation of the heavens and the earth—as in His saying:
