Likewise, in the account of Abraham the Almighty says:

“When he withdrew from them and from all that they worship besides Allah, We granted him Isaac and Jacob, and each of them We made a prophet.” ⦗Maryam 49⦘ (49)

“And We bestowed upon them of Our mercy and granted them a lofty, truthful renown.” ⦗Maryam 50⦘

Concerning Pharaoh, He says:

“He and his hosts behaved arrogantly in the land without right, and they thought that they would not be returned to Us.” ⦗al-Qasas 39⦘ (39)

“So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. See, then, how was the end of the wrongdoers!” ⦗al-Qasas 40⦘ (40)

“And We made them leaders who call to the Fire, and on the Day of Resurrection they will not be helped.” ⦗al-Qasas 41⦘ (41)

“And We pursued them in this world with a curse, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be among the despised.” ⦗al-Qasas 42⦘

For this reason the Exalted said:

“Indeed, in their stories there is a lesson for those of insight.” ⦗Yusuf 111⦘

And He said to Muhammad—may peace and blessings be upon him:

“So be patient; surely the good end belongs to the God-fearing.” ⦗Hud 49⦘

وَكَذَلِكَ فِي قِصَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ تَعَالَى: {فَلَمَّا اعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّا} [مريم: ٤٩] (٤٩) {وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُمْ مِنْ رَحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا} [مريم: ٥٠] وَقَالَ فِي قِصَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ: {وَاسْتَكْبَرَ هُوَ وَجُنُودُهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا يُرْجَعُونَ} [القصص: ٣٩] (٣٩) {فَأَخَذْنَاهُ وَجُنُودَهُ فَنَبَذْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الظَّالِمِينَ} [القصص: ٤٠] (٤٠) {وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا يُنْصَرُونَ} [القصص: ٤١] (٤١) {وَأَتْبَعْنَاهُمْ فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ هُمْ مِنَ الْمَقْبُوحِينَ} [القصص: ٤٢] وَلِهَذَا قَالَ تَعَالَى: {لَقَدْ كَانَ فِي قَصَصِهِمْ عِبْرَةٌ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ} [يوسف: ١١١] وَقَالَ لِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: {فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ الْعَاقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ} [هود: ٤٩]
