And this—this is the Qur’an itself. Then He said thereafter:

“We will show them Our signs on the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the Truth.” ⦗Fussilat: 53⦘

Then He said:

“Is it not sufficient that your Lord is a witness over all things?” ⦗Fussilat: 53⦘

He thus informs us that He will make people witness, in their own selves and across the horizons, visible, renowned, and intelligible signs that demonstrate that the audible, recited Qur’anic signs are true. In this way intellect and hearing coincide, direct observation accords with the Qur’an, and what is witnessed corroborates what has been reported.

Once it is established that the Qur’an is true, it necessarily follows that the Messenger who brought it is truthful, that Allah the Exalted revealed it, and that one must affirm everything he relates and obey everything he obligates and commands. This, in turn, entails affirming the Creator, His oneness, His names and attributes, affirming prophethood, and affirming the resurrection. These are the foundations of knowledge and faith upon which happiness and salvation depend.
