al-Harbī and Abū Bakr Jaʿfar al-Firyābī. The learned shaykh Abū al-Faraj Ibn al-Jawzī also composed a work entitled Al-Wafā on the Virtues of the Chosen One, and the ḥadith master Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Maqdisī produced his own Dalāʾil al-Nubuwwa. These and other scholars cite the well-known chains of transmission together with the many, varied, and mass-transmitted routes.
Among them are those who distinguish, within the traditions they quote, between what appears in the two Ṣaḥīḥs of al-Bukhārī and Muslim and what is recorded elsewhere—even when the latter reports are sound.
الْحَرْبِيِّ، وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ جَعْفَرٍ الْفِرْيَابِيِّ، وَمَا صَنَّفَهُ الشَّيْخُ الْعَالِمُ أَبُو الْفَرَجِ ابْنُ الْجَوْزِيِّ فِي كِتَابِهِ الْمُسَمَّى بِالْوَفَا فِي فَضَائِلِ الْمُصْطَفَى، وَمَا صَنَّفَهُ الْحَافِظُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَقْدِسِيُّ مِنْ دَلَائِلِ النُّبُوَّةِ، وَهَؤُلَاءِ وَغَيْرُهُمْ يَذْكُرُونَ مَا يَذْكُرُونَ مِنَ الْأَسَانِيدِ الْمَعْرُوفَةِ، وَالطُّرُقِ الْمُتَعَدِّدَةِ الْكَثِيرَةِ الْمُتَوَاتِرَةِ.
وَهَؤُلَاءِ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُمَيِّزُ مَا يَذْكُرُهُ مِنَ الْأَحَادِيثِ بَيْنَ مَا فِي صَحِيحَيِ الْبُخَارِيِّ، وَمُسْلِمٍ، وَمَا فِي غَيْرِهِمَا، وَإِنْ كَانَ صَحِيحًا
