Abu Maʿshar said:
Al-Maqburi related to me: Fayruz al-Daylami came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, “Chosroes has written to Badhan: ‘News has reached me that in your land there is a man who has claimed prophethood. Seize him, shackle him, and send him to me.’ ” Whereupon he said to him,
وَقَالَ أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ:
حَدَّثَنِي الْمَقْبُرِيُّ قَالَ: جَاءَ فَيْرُوزُ الدَّيْلَمِيُّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،
فَقَالَ:
إِنَّ كِسْرَى كَتَبَ إِلَى بَاذَانَ: بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ فِي أَرْضِكَ رَجُلًا تَنَبَّأَ فَارْبِطْهُ وَابْعَثْ بِهِ إِلَيَّ، فَقَالَ لَهُ
