Al-Bukhari also records, on the authority of Anas, who said:

“It is as though I can still see the dust rising in the alley of Banū Ghanm—the procession of Gabriel, upon him be Allah’s blessings—when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, marched toward Banū Qurayzah.”

In the Book of Military Expeditions, through multiple chains, it is related that the Companions saw Gabriel in the likeness of Dihyah al-Kalbi, wrapped in a turban whose end hung between his shoulders. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“Allah sent him to Banū Qurayzah to shake their strongholds and cast terror into their hearts.”

Al-Bukhari likewise transmits from Ibn ʿAbbās that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said on the Day of Badr:

“This is Gabriel, holding the head of his horse, fully armed for war.”

And in the two Ṣaḥīḥ collections it is narrated from ʿĀʾishah that she said to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him

وَرَوَى الْبُخَارِيُّ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: «كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْغُبَارِ سَاطِعًا فِي زُقَاقِ بَنِي غَنْمٍ مَوْكِبَ جِبْرِيلَ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ حِينَ سَارَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ وَفِي الْمَغَازِي مِنْ غَيْرِ طَرِيقٍ أَنَّ الصَّحَابَةَ رَأَوْا جِبْرِيلَ فِي صُورَةِ دِحْيَةَ الْكَلْبِيِّ، وَأَنَّهُ مُعْتَمٌ بِعِمَامَةٍ أَرْخَى طَرَفَهَا بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ، وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " بَعَثَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَى بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ يُزَلْزِلُ بِهِمْ حُصُونَهُمْ، وَيُلْقِي الرُّعْبَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ» وَرَوَى الْبُخَارِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ: " هَذَا جِبْرِيلُ آخِذٌ بِرَأْسِ فَرَسِهِ عَلَيْهِ أَدَاةُ الْحَرْبِ» وَفِي الصَّحِيحَيْنِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ
