Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-Masīh - Ibn Taimiya - (6/263)

Section: Among his—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—signs is Allah’s support for him by means of His angels

The sixth category: One of the Prophet’s signs is that Allah aided him with His angels. The Exalted said:

“Remember when you implored your Lord for help and He answered, ‘I will reinforce you with a thousand angels coming in succession.’” (Al-Anfal 8:9)

He, exalted is He, also said:

“When you said to the believers, ‘Is it not enough for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down? Indeed it is! And if you remain steadfast and God-fearing, and they come against you all at once, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels, distinctly marked.’” (Al ʿImran 3:124)

And He, the Exalted, said—concerning the Battle of the Trench:
