Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

driving them along.
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, asked, “Is it for sale or a gift?”—or he said, “a donation?”
The man replied, “For sale.” So the Prophet bought a sheep from him, and it was prepared. He then ordered that the dark meat from its belly be roasted. By Allah, out of the one hundred and thirty men present there was not a single one for whom the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, did not cut a slice from that belly meat: if the man was on hand he gave it to him, and if he was absent he set it aside for him. From what remained he filled a large bowl; they all ate and we were satisfied. Yet two more bowls were still left over, so we loaded them onto the camel—-or as he said.
