I give it to you as a gift; yet it belongs to a household that has no other means of living.’
He (the narrator) said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, replied, ‘Since you have mentioned its condition, it has complained of being worked too hard and given too little fodder. So treat it well.’
In another wording it says that they had been intending to slaughter the camel.
We then continued on until we stopped at a certain place. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, ‘Go to those two trees and say to them: The Messenger of Allah commands you to come together.’ I went and said that to them, whereupon each tree wrenched itself out by its roots, moved toward the other, and the two wrapped themselves around each other. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, relieved himself behind them; when he had finished, each tree returned to its original place by his command.
A woman came to him carrying her little boy who was afflicted with lamam (recurring seizures). She said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, this son of mine has suffered from these seizures for seven years; he is taken by them twice every day.’ The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, spat lightly into the boy’s mouth and said, ‘Come out, enemy of Allah! I am the Messenger of Allah.’ The child was cured.
When we returned, the boy’s mother came with two rams and some aqit (dried curd). She said, ‘By Him Who sent you with the truth, we have not seen a trace of the illness since you left us.’ He accepted one of the rams and the aqit, and returned the other ram.
