In the same collection it is also related from Ibn Masʿūd who said:

“I came to the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—while he was in a leather tent and there were forty men inside. He said,

As for the conquests that were bestowed upon them and the help they received, he had already foretold them at the very beginning of his mission, as mentioned earlier, and everything he foretold came to pass.

Abu Ḥātim narrates in his Ṣaḥīḥ on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās:

“Abu Ṭālib fell ill, so Quraysh came to visit him, and the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—also came to see him. By his head there was a seat; Abu Jahl stood up and sat in it. They complained to Abu Ṭālib about the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—saying, ‘Your nephew speaks ill of our gods.’

He said, ‘My nephew, what is the matter with your people that they are complaining about you?’

He replied, ‘O uncle,…’
