Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

“Kisra has perished; after him there will be no Kisra.” That Kisra was Kisra ibn Hurmuz, the last of the crowned Chosroes. After him authority fell to a succession of weak provincial governors, the last of whom was Yazdajard.

The same meaning is expressed in another wording:

“When Kisra perishes, there will be no Kisra after him; when Caesar perishes, there will be no Caesar after him. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, you shall most certainly expend their treasures in the cause of Allah.”

He declared this at a time when the realms of Kisra and Caesar were the mightiest on earth; yet Allah made his statement come true in the caliphates of ʿUmar and ʿUthmān. Kisra perished—the last of the Chosroes—during the caliphate of ʿUthmān in the land of Persia, and after him no Kisra remained, and none remained
