Section: His foretelling of numerous past and future unseen matters and their proof of prophethood

The miracle-signs granted to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, embrace every category of proof, whether conveyed through words or manifested through deeds. Among the most dazzling of these signs is his disclosure of the unseen—past, present, and future—of a scope unmatched by any prophet before him, let alone by anyone who is not a prophet. The Quran itself contains abundant reports of the unseen that he communicated—some of which have already been noted—and the sound hadith likewise record many events he foretold which later occurred exactly as he had said.

In the two Sahih collections it is narrated from Hudhayfa who said:

“The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, once stood among us and delivered a discourse in which he left nothing—of all that would occur from that moment until the Hour is established—without mentioning it. Whoever retained it, retained it; whoever forgot it, forgot it. My companions here know these matters. Sometimes I forget something he told us, but when I see it happen I recall it, just as a man recognizes another man’s face after being absent from him; the moment he sees him, he knows him.”
