And He also said:

“Fight them—Allah will punish them at your hands.” (Al-Tawbah 14)

And so it was: from the moment this verse was revealed, every time the Muslims confronted them they prevailed. Islam has never ceased to stand in honor and ascendancy, spreading until it established its dominance over the peoples of both East and West.

The Exalted then addressed the Jews:

“Say, ‘If the Hereafter with Allah is reserved exclusively for you, to the exclusion of all other people, then wish for death if you are truthful.’ Yet they will never wish for it because of what their own hands have sent ahead, and Allah knows the wrongdoers well. Indeed, you will find them the most avid of all people for life—even more so than those who associate others with Allah.” (Al-Baqarah 94–96)

And He said:

“Say, ‘O you who are Jews! If you claim that you are Allah’s friends to the exclusion of other people, then wish for death if you are truthful.’” (Al-Jumuʿah 6)
