It may thus be said: this is analogous to His words—Exalted is He—“Hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave off trading; that is better for you” (al-Jumuʿah 62:9); and to His words: “Is Allah better, or whatever they associate with Him?” (an-Naml 27:59); and His words: “By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error when we treated you as equals with the Lord of all creation” (ash-Shuʿarāʾ 26:97–98); and His saying: “Allah is better and more lasting” (Ṭā Hā 20:73); and His saying: “The Hereafter is better and more enduring” (al-Aʿlā 87:17); and His saying: “Refer it back to Allah and the Messenger, if you truly believe in Allah and the Last Day; that is better and leads to the soundest interpretation” (an-Nisāʾ 4:59).
وَقَدْ يُقَالُ:
هَذَا نَظِيرُ قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: فَاسْعَوْا إِلَى ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَذَرُوا الْبَيْعَ ذَلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ،
وَقَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى:
آللَّهُ خَيْرٌ أَمْ مَا يُشْرِكُونَ،
وَقَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى:
تَاللَّهِ إِنْ كُنَّا لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُمْ بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ،
وَقَوْلِهِ:
وَاللَّهُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى،
وَقَوْلِهِ:
وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى،
وَقَوْلِهِ:
فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَحْسَنُ تَأْوِيلًا
