the lobes of his ears. He was wrapped in a red cloak, and I have never seen anything more beautiful than him.

In al-Bukhari it is reported that al-Barāʾ was asked, “Was the face of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, like a sword?” He replied, “No, rather it was like the moon.”

Both Ṣaḥīḥs relate, on the authority of Kaʿb ibn Mālik: “Whenever the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was pleased, his face would shine until it appeared as though it were a slice of the moon.”

The two Ṣaḥīḥs also record from Anas ibn Mālik: “The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had a large head and large feet; I have never seen anyone like him before or after him. His palms were broad and his hands were large.”
