Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

He was, moreover, one of the most perfectly reared and nurtured of men. He was constantly known for truthfulness, piety, justice, and noble conduct, and for avoiding every form of obscenity, wrongdoing, and blameworthy trait. Everyone who knew him attested to this—those who were acquainted with him before his Prophethood, those who believed in him, and even those who later rejected him. None of them could point to any fault in his speech, his actions, or his character. Not once was he found to have lied, committed an injustice, or engaged in an indecent act.

His physical constitution and outward appearance were likewise among the most perfect, complete, and harmoniously beautiful, evidencing the fullness of his virtue. He was unlettered, raised among an unlettered people; neither he nor they possessed the knowledge held by the People of the Book—the Torah and the Gospel. He had never read a single work from the sciences of humankind, nor sat with their scholars, and he did not claim Prophethood until Allah had completed for him forty years. Thereafter he brought forth a matter more wondrous and momentous than anything, and uttered speech the like of which neither earlier nor later generations had ever heard. He informed us of realities for which, in his land and among his people, there existed no one with comparable knowledge.

Then the customary followers of the prophets—the weak and downtrodden—embraced him, while the powerful rejected and opposed him, seeking by every means to destroy him and those who believed in him, just as the unbelievers had done with the former prophets and their followers. Yet those who followed him did so neither out of worldly desire nor out of worldly fear.
