And He—the Exalted—said:

“There has already been a sign for you in the two forces that met: one force fighting in the path of Allah and the other disbelieving. They saw them with their own eyes to be twice their number, yet Allah strengthens with His help whom He wills. In that is indeed a lesson for those endowed with insight.” ⦗Āl ʿImrān: 13⦘

He—the Exalted—also said:

“When Our clear verses are recited to them, those who do not look forward to meeting Us say, ‘Bring a Quran other than this, or change it.’ Say: ‘It is not for me to change it on my own authority.’” ⦗Yūnus: 15⦘

And He said:

“Say: Consider what is in the heavens and the earth; yet signs and warnings are of no benefit to a people who will not believe.” ⦗Yūnus: 101⦘

After relating the stories of the prophets in Sūrah ash-Shuʿarāʾ, He said at the close of each narrative:

“Indeed, in that there is a sign, yet most of them were not believers; and surely your Lord is the All-Mighty, the Ever-Merciful.” ⦗ash-Shuʿarāʾ: 67–68⦘

And He said:

“In Joseph and his brothers there are certainly signs for those who ask.” ⦗Yūsuf: 7⦘

Until He said, at the end of that account:

“That is of the unseen news which We reveal to you; you were not with them when they resolved upon their affair while they were scheming.” ⦗Yūsuf: 102⦘
