Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

This was mentioned concerning al-Waḥīd. Allah, exalted is He, says in the Quran:

“Allah has indeed sent down to you a reminder— a Messenger who recites to you Allah’s clear revelations so that He may bring the believers who do righteous deeds out of darkness and into light.” ⦗at-Ṭalāq 65:10-11⦘

It is self-evident that the Messenger himself was not sent down; rather, “the Messenger” here stands in place of “the reminder,” because it is the Messenger who delivers the reminder. Since the angelic Messenger, the human Messenger, and the revealed reminder are inseparable realities—the existence of any one of them entails the existence of the other two, and faith in any one of them necessitates faith in the others—it follows that the truth of the Quran entails the truth of Gabriel and Muhammad; likewise, the truth of Muhammad entails the truth of Gabriel and the Quran, and the truth of Gabriel entails the truth of the Quran and Muhammad.

For this reason Allah has joined belief in the angels, the scriptures, and the messengers together in verses such as His statement:

“The Messenger believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and so do the believers. Each one believes in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers.” ⦗al-Baqarah 2:285⦘
