much less that anything should have been sent down to the heart of one of the disciples.
He also said, “He will acquaint you with everything that belongs to the Lord.” This shows that he will introduce people to everything that pertains to Allah—His names and attributes, His rights over creation, and the beliefs owed to Him, to His angels, His scriptures, and His messengers—so that what this messenger brings will gather together all that the Lord deserves.
No one other than Muhammad brought such comprehensive guidance, for the Book and the Wisdom that were revealed to him contain all of this. It is well known that what was inspired to the disciples did not include all of it—indeed, not even half or a third of it. What Jesus himself brought is greater than what reached the disciples, and this second Paraclete came with something even more momentous than what Jesus brought.
Moreover, Jesus said, “When the Paraclete whom my Father will send comes, he will bear witness for me. I have told you this so that, when it happens, you may believe in him and harbor no doubt.”
