Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

Allah says, “My servant has extolled Me.” When he then says, “Master of the Day of Judgment” (al-Fatiha: 4), Allah responds, “My servant has glorified Me.”

Thus they open the standing portion of the prayer with praise and they end it with praise. When they raise their heads from bowing, their imam proclaims, “Allah hears the one who praises Him,” and all of them reply, “Our Lord, and to You belongs all praise.” They likewise conclude their prayer with another formula of praise, declaring that all greetings, prayers, and pure words belong to Him. The ways in which they praise Allah are too numerous to set out in full.
