Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

or the supremely wicked miscreant among mankind; and he referred to him as a “god” in the figurative sense found in the Torah: “Indeed, God made Moses a god to Pharaoh,” meaning a ruler over him with power to dispose of his affairs. In the same way David said to the eminent men of his people, “You are gods.”

Thus Isaiah bore witness to the truth of Muḥammad’s prophethood—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—and portrayed him through his most distinctive and unmistakable mark, the seal between his shoulders. By my life, that seal was granted neither to Solomon nor to the Messiah. He further described him as seated upon the throne of David, that is, that he would inherit the Children of Israel, taking over their prophethood and their sovereignty and stripping them of their leadership.
