Section: A Fourth Prophecy from Isaiah
They said:
Isaiah—who in this passage testifies to the uprightness and true religion of this community—said:
“I shall raise a banner for a people in a far-off land; a whistle will sound for them from the ends of the earth, and they will come swiftly.”
The “call” alluded to here is the Prophet’s proclamation of the talbiyah during the Hajj. Those summoned are the people who have shown full honor to Allah: they declared His oneness, worshipped Him alone, acknowledged His exclusive lordship, smashed the idols, and did away with every graven image.
The banner that is raised is prophethood itself,
and its whistle is their summons to His House and its sacred landmarks, so they approach it attentive and obedient.
