Section: Isaiah’s glad tidings concerning Mecca
They said:
The Prophet Isaiah, peace be upon him, foretold Mecca—may Allah ennoble her—saying:
“Raise your eyes to all that surrounds you, and you shall rejoice and be glad, for the treasures of the seas will be brought to you, and the hosts of nations will make pilgrimage to you. Long strings of well-watered camels will blanket your land, so that the very ground becomes too cramped for the caravans converging upon you. The rams of Midian will be driven to you, the people of Saba will come to you, the flocks of Paran will travel toward you, and the men of Maʾrab will serve you.”
By “the men of Maʾrab” he means the custodians of the Kaʿbah, the descendants of Maʾrab ibn Ishmael.
