“And the camels* We have appointed for you as part of Allah’s rites; in them lies much good for you. So invoke the name of Allah over them while they are standing in rows. Then, when their flanks have collapsed, eat of them and feed the self-restrained poor and the beggar. Thus have We subjected them to you so that you might give thanks. Neither their flesh nor their blood reaches Allah; rather, what reaches Him is your God-consciousness. In this way We have placed them at your disposal, that you may magnify Allah for the guidance He has granted you. And give glad tidings to those who excel in doing good.” (Qur’an 22:36)
The Christians even refer to the Muslims’ festival as the “Allāhu Akbar” feast because of the overt proclamation of the takbīr in it. No other community—whether from the People of the Book or anyone else—possesses anything comparable to this; it is unique to the Muslims. Moses would gather the Children of Israel with a trumpet, and the Christians use a hand-bell.
