Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

He, the Exalted, also says:

“Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Those who are with him are firm against the unbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating, seeking grace from Allah and His good pleasure; their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. Such is their likeness in the Torah, while their likeness in the Gospel is that of a seed that sends forth its shoot, then strengthens it, and it grows stout and stands firm upon its stalks, delighting the farmers—so that through them He may enrage the unbelievers.” (Q 48:29)

And He, the Exalted, says:

“Those to whom We gave the Scripture recognise him just as they recognise their own sons.” (Q 2:146)

This wording appears in two places in the Quran: one passage concerns monotheism and the Quran, and the other concerns the direction of prayer together with the Quran and Muhammad.

In the first instance He says:

“Say, ‘What thing is greatest as testimony?’ Say, ‘Allah is Witness between me and you. This Quran has been revealed to me that I may warn you thereby, and whomever it reaches. Do you truly testify that alongside Allah there are other gods?’ Say, ‘I do not testify.’ Say, ‘He is only one God, and I am absolved of whatever you associate with Him.’

Those to whom We have given the Scripture recognise it just as they recognise their own sons; yet those who have ruined themselves—they will not believe.” (Q 6:19–20)
