and the one they call Jesus—those two, they say, never spoke of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
Fifth: After careful reflection, Muslims—and any sound-minded person—find it impossible to affirm the prophethood of Moses and Jesus while denying that of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. His prophethood is more complete, the avenues for recognizing it are clearer and more numerous, and every proof adduced for another prophet is even more compelling in his case. Consequently, to reject his prophethood is, a fortiori, to reject the prophethood of anyone else. The person who maintains the opposite view is self-contradictory, as are all people of falsehood. For this reason the Exalted has said of the unbelievers:
“You are surely caught up in contradictory speech; only those who are deluded are turned away from the truth.” (Qur’an 51:8)
