Others live in peace with him by virtue of a covenant, a protection pact, or a temporary truce—these are the ahl al-dhimma and the ahl al-hudna who exist all over the earth—while still others stand in fear of his community.
Wherever a single individual, or an entire group, from his ummah clings firmly to his religion, his light shines forth, his proof dazzles—honored and ever supported—and his superiority over everyone else becomes unmistakable.
People who dwell in lands of unbelief, whether idolaters or People of the Book, are well aware of this, because Allah has favored Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—and his community with guidance and the religion of truth. Through word and deed they have made the Lord’s religion manifest across the earth, east and west.
Can anyone possessed of knowledge and fairness possibly say that the sending of Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—served no purpose, and that what the People of the Book possessed made his message unnecessary?!

This is therefore one of the greatest benefits, the noblest objectives, and among the most magnificent favors Allah has bestowed upon His servants. Yet despite all that, he declared: “Allah sent me and commanded me to do this.”
