Whoever surveys the state of the world will see clearly that Allah has never bestowed upon the inhabitants of the earth a blessing greater than His favor in sending Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

Those who spurned his message are the very ones about whom Allah said:
“Have you not seen those who exchanged the favor of Allah for ingratitude and led their people to the home of ruin?” (Ibrāhīm 28).

For this reason, He described those who accept this favor as grateful, saying:
“And thus We have tried some of them through others so that they might say, ‘Are these the ones whom Allah has favored from among us?’ Does not Allah know best those who are grateful?” (Al-Anʿām 53).

He also said:
“Muhammad is no more than a messenger; other messengers passed away before him. So if he were to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels? Whoever turns back on his heels will never harm Allah in the least, and Allah will reward the grateful.” (Āl ʿImrān 144).

Sixth response: One may say that their remark, “We are astonished at these people …” to the end of the passage, is the statement of an ignorant wrongdoer who deserves to be told: “Rather …”
