and the benefits it contains are far greater than those that accompanied the missions of Moses and the Messiah. The soundness it secured for human beings, in both their worldly life and their life to come, is many times what was achieved through the sending of Moses and the Messiah, whether in the sphere of command or in that of creation. For within his law there is guidance and the religion of truth in a form more complete than in the two earlier laws. Allah also facilitated for His creatures a following of him and a guidance through him the like of which had never been granted to anyone before. Thus the excellence of his law derives, first, from its own intrinsic superiority and, second, from the great number of people who embraced it and from the perfection of their acceptance—unlike the law of those before him. Moses—peace be upon him—was sent only to the Children of Israel, and among them there was the well-known rejection and obstinacy during his lifetime and after his death; the Christians themselves record some of this in their own scripture.
