That is justice. He then says: “unless they waive it, or the one who holds the marriage bond waives it; and to waive it is closer to godfearingness” (Qur’an 2:237). That is grace.

He, exalted is He, says: “If you retaliate, then retaliate with the like of that which you were made to suffer” (Qur’an 16:126). That is justice. He then says: “But should you remain patient, that is certainly better for those who are patient” (Qur’an 16:126). That is grace.

And He, exalted is He, says: “The recompense of an evil deed is an evil one like it” (Qur’an 42:40). That is justice. He then says: “Yet whoever pardons and makes peace—his reward rests with Allah” (Qur’an 42:40). That is grace.
