and He likewise says, “And rely upon the Ever-Living who never dies” (al-Furqān 25:58).
He also describes some of His servants as living, as in His words: “He brings forth the living from the dead” (al-Anʿām 6:95)—while it is understood that the Living is nothing like the living.
He has named Himself the All-Knowing, as in His words: “Indeed, your Lord is Wise, All-Knowing” (al-Anʿām 6:83). He has likewise described some of His servants as knowledgeable, as in His words: “and they gave him glad tidings of a boy endowed with knowledge” (adh-Dhāriyāt 51:28)—all the while recognizing that the All-Knowing is not like the one who merely possesses knowledge.
In the same way He calls Himself the Forbearing, in His words: “Allah is Self-Sufficient, Forbearing” (al-Baqarah 2:263), and He describes some of His servants as forbearing, in His words: “So We gave him glad tidings of a forbearing boy” (aṣ-Ṣāffāt 37:101).
