—neither eternal nor non-eternal, nor did they mean by it the life of Allah.
Thus your claim is nothing but an alteration of the word of Allah and of the words of His prophets and messengers. Likewise, when you say that the Word of Allah—or His knowledge or His life—is begotten of Him, and that His eternal, pre-existent attribute is His Son, you have distorted the speech of the prophets, for none of them ever intended such a meaning by that wording. Nowhere in all the books you possess is the expression “begotten son” applied to anything but a temporal, created being—never to something eternal and pre-existent, whether a subject or an attribute, knowledge or speech or wisdom, or anything else.
Every birth mentioned in the divine scriptures you hold, and in other scriptures besides, is a temporal, contingent birth; and every one who is born is a temporal, originated creature. There is no eternal, pre-existent birth in the books, nor any eternal, pre-existent offspring, despite what you have set down in your creed and elsewhere.
Even if what you have asserted were rationally conceivable, you would still have no right to make it an actual reality and claim that the prophets intended it—unless they themselves had made that intent plain. But since their words clearly show that they did not mean it, and clear reason openly contradicts it, what you have said is a lie against Allah, against His prophets, messengers, and the Messiah, and it is invalid in the judgment of reason.
You therefore fall under the verse:
“Had we only listened or used our reason, we would not have been among the people of the Blaze.” (Al-Mulk 67:10)
