Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

then a second voice said:
“Everything that God has purified is not impure.”
Another recension reads: “What God has purified, do not you declare impure.”
The voice repeated this three times, whereupon the sheet was drawn back up to heaven, and Peter was left astonished, puzzled within himself.
On the strength of that vision—and of what our Master the Messiah stated in his sacred Gospel—Peter and Paul decreed that every four-footed creature, including the pig and all other animals, was lawful for us to eat.
Consequently, the king commanded that pigs be slaughtered, their meat cooked, cut into very small pieces, and placed at the doors of the churches throughout his realm on Easter Sunday. Everyone leaving the church had to take a morsel of pork; whoever refused was put to death. Because of this, a great many people were killed.
