and at that time the Messiah was thirty years old. He also recounts the story of John’s death and the crucifixion that is well known among the Christians.

He then says:

Pilate wrote a letter to Tiberius Caesar, informing the king about the Messiah and about the numerous wonders being worked by His disciples—healing the sick and raising the dead.

Tiberius wanted to believe in the Messiah and to proclaim the Christian faith openly, but those around him did not follow him in that. He ruled for twenty-two years and six months. The author further notes that during his reign the city of Tiberias was built, its name derived from his own.

He goes on to say: After Tiberius, another Caesar reigned for four years and three months. This emperor executed Pilate and appointed a man who was severe toward the disciples of the Messiah. He put to death the chief of the martyrs and deacons, who was stoned with rocks until he died.

He adds that the disciples met with intense persecution at the hands of both the Jews and the Romans, and that people were killed—
