Likewise, the Exalted says,
“Whatever blessing you possess is from Allah.” (al-Naḥl 16:53)
He also says,
“Whatever good reaches you is from Allah, and whatever evil befalls you is from your own self.” (al-Nisāʾ 4:79)
And He says,
“Those who disbelieved from among the People of the Book and the idol-worshippers were not about to desist until the Clear Proof came to them: a messenger from Allah, reciting purified scrolls in which are upright scriptures.” (al-Bayyinah 98:1–3)
All of these things are “from Allah,” yet they are created. Even more explicit is the Spirit of Allah that He sent to Mary—it too is created. All the more, then, must the Messiah, who is a spirit originating from that Spirit, be regarded as created.
The Exalted says,
“So We sent to her Our Spirit, and he appeared before her as a well-proportioned man. She said, ‘I seek refuge in the All-Merciful from you, if indeed you are God-fearing.’ He said, ‘I am only a messenger of your Lord, sent to grant you a pure son.’” (Maryam 19:17–19)
And He says,
“And Mary, the daughter of ʿImrān, who guarded her chastity—We breathed into her garment a Spirit from Us.” (al-Taḥrīm 66:12)
