and seek His forgiveness, for Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

The Messiah, son of Mary, was only a messenger; messengers passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth, and both of them ate food. Look how We make the signs clear to them, yet look how they are turned away.

Say, “Do you worship, instead of Allah, that which can neither harm you nor benefit you? Allah alone is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”

Say, “People of the Book, do not exceed the limits in your religion beyond what is right, and do not follow the whims of a people who went astray before, led many others astray, and themselves strayed far from the straight path.” ⦗al-Maʾida 5:72-77⦘.

The Exalted One has also said:

“The Jews say, ‘Uzayr is the son of Allah,’ and the Christians say, ‘The Messiah is the son of Allah.’ Such are the words of their mouths; they imitate what those who disbelieved before them once said. May Allah condemn them—how they are deluded!

They have taken their rabbis and monks as lords apart from Allah, and also the Messiah, son of Mary, although they were commanded to worship only one God. There is no deity but Him—exalted is He above all they associate with Him.

They want to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths, but Allah refuses save to perfect His light, even though the disbelievers detest it.

He is the One who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth so that He may make it prevail over every other religion, even though the polytheists detest it.

O you who believe, many of the rabbis and monks consume people’s wealth unjustly and bar others from the path of Allah. Those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in the way of Allah—give them tidings of a painful punishment.” ⦗al-Tawba 9:30-34⦘.
