Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

with a human being from among the children of Adam, and such a person is even more misguided than those about whom Allah says:
“By Allah, we were truly in manifest error
when we equated you with the Lord of all worlds.” ⦗26:97–98⦘

Those earlier idolaters set up created beings as rivals to Allah in certain matters while openly admitting that those beings were themselves created. These present-day deviants, however, have gone further still: they have made this very man who speaks the Lord of all worlds—the One who addressed Moses from the bush—and they declare, “The One who spoke to the servants is the very One who called to Moses from the bush.”

Thirteenth Point:
It is self-evident that Allah is more exalted, more majestic, and greater than His messengers to a degree no created being can measure. If He were the One who spoke to people through the Messiah’s tongue, and if the Disciples were His messengers who heard that speech from Him directly without any intermediary, then the Disciples would have to be either the equals of Moses or even greater than him.

Yet it is well known that the Messiah himself was not given signs like those granted to Moses—much less the Disciples. The greatest sign bestowed on the Messiah, peace be upon him, was the revival of the dead, and even that miracle was shared with other prophets such as Elijah and others.

The People of the Book themselves record in their scriptures that others besides the Messiah revived the dead by Allah’s permission. Among the signs granted to Moses son of Imran was his staff, which turned into a manifest serpent that swallowed the magicians’ ropes and staffs; more than once he would throw it down and it would become a serpent, then seize it and it would return to being a staff.
