let alone regarded as wise; on the contrary, he is among those who fabricate lies against Allah:
“Who could be more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah, or says, ‘Revelation has come to me,’ when nothing has been revealed to him?” (Qur’an 6:93).
Second, we have already shown that what they cite does not contradict anything the Book itself affirms, and that there is no inconsistency in this Scripture that they can validly use against it in any way whatsoever.
As for their claim, “Our greatest proof is the testimony we find in it that Allah has placed us above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection,” we reply: what they mention is evidence against them, not for them. Allah informed the Messiah that He would place those who followed him above the disbelievers until the Day of Resurrection; Allah’s word is true, His promise is sure, and Allah never fails to keep His promise. Accordingly, when the Messiah was followed by those who believed in him, Allah made them superior to those who disbelieved in him—whether Jews or others.
Later, when Allah sent Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) with the same religion with which He had sent the Messiah and all the prophets before him—and when Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) confirmed what the Messiah had brought, while the Messiah had given glad tidings of a messenger to come after him whose name would be Ahmad—the community of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) became more faithfully aligned with the Messiah, upon him be peace, than the Christians who altered his law and denied the messenger he foretold. Consequently, Allah has placed the community of Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) above the Christians until the Day of Resurrection.
