To proceed: Any Muslim who happens to be with them must come to their aid against whoever does them injustice, for these people enjoy the covenant (dhimma). Their jizya is remitted for twenty-four months from the day they arrive, and they are to be charged only from the yield of the land they themselves cultivate—without oppression or coercion. This was witnessed by ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān, may Allah be pleased with him, and by Muʿayqīb ibn Abī Fāṭimah.
Some of them later went to Iraq and settled in the Najrānī quarter near Kūfa.
