Third:
An attribute, in and of itself, performs no action and possesses nothing. It merely inheres in the One described, whereas the very essence endowed with that attribute is the true agent and the One with whom everything resides.
Fourth:
This is like the wording, “The Lord rained from (the presence of) Himself,” except that the explicit name is placed where a concealed pronoun might have stood, so as to make the matter plain—because in both expressions the prerogative belongs to Him alone.
A similar construction appears in the Quran, for example:
“The Inevitable—what is the Inevitable?” (69:1–2);
“The Calamity—what is the Calamity?” (101:1–2);
and His words,
“The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing” (40:2),
“A revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate” (41:2).
It is Allah who sends it down; yet He does not say, “from Me.”
