And Isaiah said:
“God declares: ‘Thus My soul detests your Sabbaths, and the beginnings of your months have become loathsome to Me.’
And He also said:
‘On that day,’ says God, ‘I will abolish the Sabbaths and all the festivals, and I will give you a new, chosen law—unlike the law I gave to Moses My servant on the day of Horeb, the day of the great assembly. Rather, it will be a new, chosen law that He will command and bring forth from Zion.’ Zion, of course, is Jerusalem.
Now this new, chosen law is the very law that we Christians have received from the pure apostolic disciples who went out from Jerusalem, travelled through the seven regions of the earth, and proclaimed this new law. What statement could be clearer or more decisive than this, since we have cited it as the very word of God—and especially when our own adversaries, the Jews who reject our faith, have testified to the truth of it all?
As for the Jewish argument concerning these prophecies, they affirm and believe that they are true, and that they are the word of God; yet they say that their fulfilment is still to come, these prophecies are preserved among the Jews just as they are among us Christians, in seventy-two languages, so that everyone may see them
