from ʿAbd Allah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Ḥazm, and from others among the scholars—each one supplementing the report of the rest—who said:

“The delegation of so-and-so and so-and-so, together with a group of men from Khathʿam, came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, after Jarir ibn ʿAbd Allah, may Allah be pleased with him, had demolished Dhu al-Khalasa and slain those of Khathʿam whom he slew.

They declared, ‘We have believed in Allah and in His Messenger.’”
